With its spectacular scenery and unique geographic formations, Larkspur is home to some of the state’s most breathtaking golf courses.
Our two favorites?
Golf at Bear Dance: Often considered Colorado’s most challenging golf course, this gorgeous range features 753 acres of breathtaking mountainous terrain, native grass valleys, and towering pines and oaks.
Perry Park Country Club: Between the magnificent rock formations and stunning panoramic views, this 18-hole course at Perry Park Ranch is definitely worth a visit if you’re able to secure a Monday booking.
In our small ranch town, we love our four-legged friends (and we’re not just talking about dogs and cats). One of our most popular local events, the annual Greenland Open Space Pack Burro Race is an exciting celebration of Colorado culture and tradition.
Come and watch as locals take on the ridiculous challenge of trying to coax their stubborn donkey partners across the finish line in a 3-mile or 6-mile race.
Beyond Larkspur city limits, you’ll find a wide array of other exciting entertainment options in surrounding towns like Castle Rock, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Manitou Springs:
Unleash your inner adventurer with a trip to The Edge in Castle Rock, Colorado. Essentially a massive adult playground, the park features scenic zipline tours, tricky ropes courses, rock climbing, rappelling, and an intense ninja course.
Another Castle Rock treasure, this beautiful 2,628-acre park boasting views of the Front Range and Pikes Peak is an excellent spot for hiking, a picnic, rock climbing, bird watching, photography, and more!
A charming historic section of downtown Denver, Larimer Square features a wide range of exquisite dining and shopping options—everything from an underground speakeasy to a curated Omakase restaurant to a classic comedy club.

Another Denver hotspot for fine dining and shopping, LoDo (short for Lower Downtown) is the town’s oldest neighborhood. Dating back to 1858, LoDo boasts more than 100 unique restaurants, clubs, galleries, shops, and hospitality businesses.
These astounding public gardens make for a lovely visit any time of year, but we especially love the Denver Botanic Gardens during the holiday season, when the trees are decked out in glimmering Christmas lights.
If you’re visiting Larkspur, you’ve GOT to check the line-up at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Literally surrounded by Colorado’s distinct red rock formations, it’s quite possibly the most epic outdoor concert venue in the country.
Easily one of the most breathtaking Colorado Springs attractions, the Garden of the Gods should definitely make it onto your trip itinerary if you want a true experience of the great Colorado outdoors. The park is not only perfect for hikers and rock climbers, but it also offers bicycle, segway, jeep, and trolley tours.
Yet another charming Colorado shopping center with rich historic roots, Old Colorado City is a great place to go for a soothing cup of Joe, a tour of local art galleries, and a pleasant day of shopping and dining.
This awe-inspiring 35-foot waterfall in North Cheyenne Canyon makes for a pleasant hike and some great photo opportunities for casual visitors or newly married couples.
Featuring ziplining, wall climbing, ropes courses, cave tours, and more, this family-friendly Colorado Springs destination offers loads of fun for all ages.
Dreaming of a luxury retreat with your wedding party or colleagues? It doesn’t get better than Cheyenne Mountain Spa & Resort, with its cozy suites, soothing spa treatments, beautiful on-site golf course, and more!
If there’s one thing Colorado Springs is known for, it’s whitewater rafting along the Arkansas River. There are numerous rafting guides and outfitters to choose from—it’s hard to go wrong, no matter which touring company you choose.
A true architectural wonder, these ancient Puebloan ruins offer a glimpse into the daily life and experiences of the Native Americans who once inhabited the region.
In addition to the cliff dwellings, Manitou Springs is known for its natural mineral springs, scattered along Manitou Avenue. Visitors often enjoy visiting (and tasting water from) each of the 8 springs, stopping for a little local cuisine and shopping along the way.
