Spruce Mountain Gives Back: Highlighting Our 2025 Easter Brunch

We had an extraordinary turnout at our tenth annual Easter Brunch! With 320 attendees, a delicious spread of goodies, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and a wonderful morning surprise from Jack Frost himself, I think it’s safe to call the 2025 event a success.

“This event serves as an opportunity for family and friends to gather, enjoy good food, and create lasting memories,” said Erika Blazek, a Spruce Mountain Property Manager. “It also strengthens community ties and showcases hospitality, often becoming a cherished tradition that guests look forward to each year.”

Thanks to our dedicated staff, generous vendors, and enthusiastic attendees, we raised $10,000 for Mount Saint Vincent, a trusted provider of trauma therapy and pediatric behavioral healthcare to children and families throughout Colorado and neighboring states.

Where It All Began: Our Decision to Support Mount St. Vincent

The origin of Spruce Mountain Ranch’s long-time relationship with Mount Saint Vincent brings us back to the mid-2000s to a church service at St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Littleton, Colorado.

“The needs of Mount St. Vincent came to the attention of my parents, Tom and Lois Ames, while attending church with our family,” said Tara Ames, Spruce Mountain Events Owner and Operator.

“A nun, Sister Lavonne, came to speak to our congregation about the history and mission of MSV,” Tara continued. “It had been founded in the late 1800s to serve the needs of orphaned children in the Denver area and to seek much-needed donations.”

“One story that Sister Lavonne told to us that day that especially touched our hearts was that of a young boy who had been so badly abused that when he arrived at MSV and was given a warm safe bed to sleep in, he refused to sleep in it and was found sleeping on the floor.”

“When questioned why he chose to sleep on the floor, he answered, ‘I don’t deserve a bed.’” Tara said. “In that moment of hearing that story, my mom and dad decided this was the philanthropy they and their family would always help to support.”

A decade later, this personal mission expanded to Spruce Mountain Ranch, as the Ames family hosted their first-ever Easter Brunch and Santa Weekend charity events.

A Unique Dedication to Our Larkspur Community

Beyond the philanthropy aspect, the Spruce Mountain team views their Easter and Christmas events as an opportunity to foster deeper relationships with people in the Larkspur community.

“For Spruce management and ownership, community involvement and meaningful giving are essential values rooted in their commitment to the well-being and growth of the community,” Erika Blazek said. “By engaging in local initiatives and charitable causes, they strengthen community ties, foster goodwill, and contribute to lasting positive change.”

And these are just two of many values that set Spruce Mountain and the Ames family apart.

“Tara and her family are truly just the greatest people—always warm, friendly, and welcoming,” said Kristin Steiner, Spruce Mountain Marketing Coordinator.

“They know they have been blessed in their lives and want to share those blessings with everyone. They have built their businesses from the ground up through hard work and perseverance, and just want to share with those around them.”

A Big Thanks to All Who Made It Happen!

Of course, we could not have hosted such a splendid event without all of our astounding vendor partners. Not only do these businesses offer top-rate services, but they share our “pay-it-forward” mentality:

  • Biscuits & Berries caters our Easter Brunch every year. This time around, they definitely did NOT disappoint, with a marvelous seafood station, waffles, eggs, bacon, pastries, and loads of fresh fruit.

  • Sugarplum Cake Shoppe came through with a tempting spread of scrumptious, 100% complimentary desserts.

  • Peak Beverage—our regular drinks partner—set up a lovely Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar, totally free of charge.

  • Linz Meats donated delicious cuts of meat for our carving station.

  • Crafty Chassis provided all the kids' crafts and supplied staffing for no extra cost.

  • American Events sent the Easter Bunny our way, and what great fun all the kiddos had!

  • Eric Lane and Hipster Mama Productions filled the venue with delightful energy. These performers always do an amazing job at our family-friendly events.

  • HoneyRock Florals blessed us with all the stunning floral displays and threw in the labor free of charge.

  • Kodiak Ranch provided lovely horse-drawn hay rides at a discounted rate.

  • Colorado Lighting and Events donated the specialty lighting for the perfect mid-morning ambiance.

  • Squier Studios captured all these amazing photos for absolutely no cost.

  • Event Rents donated 100% of the brunch décor—all praise to them!

  • And last but certainly not least, Sarah Viera Events planned the ENTIRE event—florals, decorations, entertainment, food, you name it! Plus, she blessed us with discounted pricing for this special community event.
