Commonly Asked Questions from our Guests Attending a Spruce Mountain Event

Did you just receive an invitation in the mail to attend a Spruce Mountain Event? If it is your first time visiting the venue you may have a few questions about where to stay, how to get there, and what to wear. We want to make sure we answer as many of your questions as we can prior to your arrival at our venue, so you are properly prepared and can relax and enjoy the event.

Accommodations

Do you offer overnight accommodations?

Unfortunately, we do not offer overnight accommodations at Spruce Mountain Ranch.

Do you have hotel recommendations?

Searching for a great hotel when you have never visited the city where your event is located can be difficult. We have simplified this task by listing several hotels we recommend on our accommodations page on our website and mobile app. Often, wedding couples will have pre-arranged room blocks for their guests at local hotels. A great way to find out if the wedding you are attending has pre-arranged room blocks is to check the wedding event website. Even if the couple has not arranged for a hotel block, they will most likely give suggestions of hotels near our venue.

Do the hotels you recommend offer transportation to and from the ranch?

Yes. We work with several hotels that not only offer discounted rates, but also provide a special hotel package that includes round-trip transportation to and from Spruce Mountain. Check with your host/hostess to see if they have a room block arranged that includes transportation.

The Bar & Marijuana

Is smoking tobacco or marijuana allowed on Spruce Mountain property?

Smoking tobacco, marijuana, or other substances is prohibited inside any of the Spruce Mountain buildings. We only allow the smoking of tobacco in the areas where proper butt and ash receptacles our provided. Marijuana, in any form, is strictly prohibited in any and all areas on the Spruce Mountain property. Be advised that marijuana brought onto the premises will be confiscated. We want you to enjoy your time at Spruce Mountain, so we kindly ask you to follow our few rules.

Can I bring in my own alcohol?

We ask that our guests do not bring alcohol on our premises. If the host/hostess of your event plans to have alcohol, an open bar will be provided for you though a licensed vendor. Please be advised that alcohol brought onto the Spruce Mountain property will be confiscated.

Do I need to bring my ID?

We do ask that you bring your ID to the event if you plan on having alcohol. Our licensed vendor is required to card all guests under the age 40.

Transportation

Does Uber or Lyft provide transportation to and from Spruce Mountain Ranch?

Uber and Lyft have limited service in our area. We suggest that guests plan on pre-booking rides to their event. This way, you can guarantee reliable transportation to and from the event.

Upon Arrival

The property is so large, how will I know where to go once I arrive?

After you pass through the grand gates, stay to the right of the island and pay attention to the chalkboard signs that will direct you to the appropriate venue/event (Upper Ranch-Ponderosa, or Lower Ranch-Albert’s Lodge).

What time should I plan on arriving?

We suggest that guest arrive at the property 30 minutes prior to when the ceremony is scheduled to start. This extra 30 minutes will give you time to find the ceremony location, park your car (if you drove yourself), use the restroom, and get a great seat for the ceremony, so you can be sure to see the stunning bride as she walks down the aisle.

What address should I plug into my GPS?

Spruce Mountain’s physical address is: 14771 Spruce Mountain Rd. Larkspur, CO.

Visiting the Ranch

Can I visit the property prior to the wedding?

We ask that you wait to visit Spruce Mountain until the date of the wedding you are attending is held. Spruce Mountain is a privately owned property with gated access. Our venue does not accommodate walk-in visits at anytime.

Where will we park while attending a wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch?

Each of our venues have designated parking areas for all of our guests. We keep our guests in mind by keeping our parking locations within close proximity to our venues.

Can I leave my vehicle on property after the conclusion of the event?

We ask that you do not leave your vehicle at the conclusion of the event. Any vehicles that are left behind after the event concludes will be towed at the owner’s expense. For this reason, we ask our guests to please plan ahead should they need a ride after the event has ended.

What is the altitude at Spruce Mountain Ranch?

Spruce Mountain Ranch sits at 7,300 ft. We do ask our guests who are attending an event from lower altitudes to drink plenty of water leading up to the event and during the event. We also caution our guests to be mindful that consuming alcohol can affect you differently at high altitudes.

What should I wear?

Even though Spruce Mountain is a working cattle ranch, our venues are pristinely landscaped with beautiful paved outdoor areas. Your attire will vary based on your host or hostess’ recommendation. For example, some couples choose to have casual wedding attire, while others will want you to come dressed in your finest for a formal black tie affair. We recommend contacting the host/hostess of your event to see what attire they recommend. Another place to find wedding attire recommendations is on most wedding websites. One recommendation we do have for you is to make sure you wear sensible footwear at our Mountainside and Trey’s Vista ceremony sites.

What is the weather like at Spruce Mountain Ranch, and should I plan on being outdoors?

If you have spent any time in Colorado, you may know that the weather here is stunning, but can be very unpredictable at times. We ask that all our guests come prepared for any type of weather while visiting the ranch. During your time at Spruce Mountain for a wedding, you may be outdoors for some portion and indoors for the other. In the summer months, the evenings can cool down, so we suggest bringing a lighter sweater or jacket. Packing sunblock, sunglasses or an umbrella is a great idea to keep you shaded from the sun. Lastly, we do want to inform our guests that may have allergies to grass, hay, dust, pollens, livestock, etc. to bring any medication necessary to prevent a possible allergic reaction.

Is there cell service available at Spruce Mountain?

Cell service is limited at Spruce Mountain. We do have reliable Wi-Fi that we would be happy for you to use while you attend an event at our venue.

Can we pet the cows?

Sadly, we do not allow any guests access into our pastures. Our mama cows are very protective of their young and by nature, will charge if they feel threatened. Startling the cattle can cause them injury. More importantly, we do not want our guests to get injured! Your safety is of the utmost concern to us, so we do kindly ask that you observe them from afar.
