At Spruce Mountain Ranch, we love hearing all the stories of romantic proposals behind the beautiful weddings we host! To celebrate the biggest engagement season of the year, we asked our happy couples to send us submissions of their proposal stories. We hope that you enjoy reading these heart-warming love stories as much as we did!
Story #1
Our first story was submitted by Brandelin & Austin Demmel.
My husband, Austin, and I got married at Spruce Mountain Ranch on November 25, 2015.
Rewind two years earlier, Novemeber 2013, and the Chris Cagle concert was happening at The Grizzly Rose in Denver, CO. This happened to be mine and my husbands first date. We went to the Ale House for dinner and then he took me to the concert. From then on we were in separable. Next thing we knew we were moving to Fort Benning, Georgia so that my husband could complete some training for the military. We lived there for 6 months. While we were there, Chris Cagle happened to be performing at a local venue. You guessed it, we went to his concert then as well. We moved back to Colorado in 2015 and little did I know while my husband was training he was in contact with Chris Cagle’s team so that he could set up our proposal during his next concert at the Grizzly Rose in 2015. He did just that.
On November 26, 2014 - we went to the Ale House for Dinner that night and then headed over to the concert. I had a feeling it may happen but wasn’t sure because there was NO sign of a ring or ring box whatsoever. I'm the type who looks for those sort of things! HA! But sure enough, we went to dinner, and nothing. No talk of it getting engaged no nothing. We went to the concert and enjoying our selves as we always did at The Grizzly Rose. We were dancing, singing, and enjoying celebrating one year of being together! While we were dancing to a slow song. Chris Cagle, stops his entire concert and says, “2LT Demmel have you done it yet?” So I turned around to Austin and he was on one knee with the ring and asked me to marry him. Then to further the greatness, chris cagle talked directly to us for a good 5 min about marriage and commitment and loving each other. He played a second night at the Grizzly Rose which we attend and got to go on his tour bus the next night and have a drink and chat with him. One of the most memorable times of my life.
