Often when people think of a wedding they might think of a very proper ceremony, but your wedding is really just a big party to celebrate your love. Yes, there are certain ceremonial aspects that you will want to incorporate, but your guests are there to have a great time and celebrate your new beginning! Relax and have fun with it, your guests are sure to follow suit.

The Program

Your guests may know the bride or the groom, but most likely they do not know both sides of the wedding party. We love the idea of using your program to help your guests get to know both sides better. Incorporate fun facts about yourself, your parents or even your extended family.

Ring Bearer and Flower Girl

Let these little ones have fun with their outfits. Give the ring bearer a fun pair of shades and let your flower girl wear her favorite tulle skirt. Everyone will be sure to ooh and ahh at them as they make their way down the aisle.

Processional Music

Meaningful processional music is a must. If you have a song in mind, make sure to let your DJ or musician know. If it is a little different than normal do not worry, it is YOUR wedding after all.

Make it comfortable

If you want your guests to get up and play lawn games or get out on the dance floor, they will need shoes they can dance in. Provide baskets near the lawn games or dance floor with an assortment of flip flops. Your guests will thank you for this one.

Get with your wedding party before the wedding and come up with a group dance. Worried about the level of skill in your wedding party? Don’t fret; your guests are sure to be entertained by the unique style of moves performed by your friends.

Who’s Who?

Make a display with old family photos at a table and have your guests try to figure out who is who. Your guests will love seeing your baby photos, photos of your parents wedding or even pictures of your grandparents.

Kids Entertainment

Have a separate kids table with a designated babysitter. This will allow your guests with children to hit the dance floor without worrying about their kids. Put out games, coloring books, or even have the babysitter do face-painting. They will love it, and the parents will appreciate it even more.

 

We think incorporating a few of these ideas are sure to make for a fun wedding. If you are unsure how to go about selecting ideas to incorporate, we suggest sitting down as a couple and thinking this through. Make it personal.  Decide what “your” type of fun is, and then figure out how to incorporate that aspect. If you aren’t big on games, don’t add those, but if you are the couple that is known for going out dancing, make sure to get your guests out on the dance floor. Your guests will love seeing your authentic, fun-loving self. Plus, at the end of the night you will remember how much fun you had with your guests.
