                                    EVENT PLANNING RESOURCESSpecial Event Permitting5 1EVENT PLANNING RESOURCESLarkspur Fire District requires permits for all events in our area, to safeguard attendees, staff, firefighters, and property. Spruce Mountain will submit the application and pay the associated fee (up to 500 guests) to obtain your Event Permit. The process is very simple. To assist us in acquiring your permit, follow the steps below prior to your 30-day walkthrough. Then, we will take it from there!SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT OVERVIEW:1. Read through the %u201cFire Safety for Events:  Dos and Don%u02bcts%u201d below. 2. You will be sent an email with a link to a  questionnaire for you to fill out with your  event details from a Spruce Mountain staff  member 2-3 months before your event date.  3. Done! The staff member will take it from  there. If there are any follow-up questions,  they will reach out to you directly. SPECIAL EVENT PERMITTING STEPS: CANDLES AND FLORALS: DON%u02bcT use open flames at your event. Candles can be used if they fall within these guidelines: all flames must be contained in glass (examples include votive cups and hurricane glasses); lit candles may never be placed on the floor or used with artificial floral (unless a non-flammable certification %u201cNFPA Flame Certificate%u201d is provided from the manufacturer). With no NFPA Flame Certificate artificial floral and lit candles must be 6' apart. DON%u02bcT use real flames with dried floral, eucalyptus, or pampas grass. DO use LED/ battery operated candles as an alternative or when in doubt. DO use real flowers with lit, contained candles, set a safe distance from each other.DRAPING, CHANDELIERS, AND OTHER DECOR: DON%u02bcT use fireworks or sparklers.DO use draping and chandeliers from a responsible vendor that can provide an NFPA Flame Certificate. Please note, this is a standard request for a professional installer/manufacturer. DO use heaters, cold sparks, and other rentals of this nature from a vendor that can provide manufacturers warnings for their products for approval. DJS/BANDS/AV: DO watch for tripping hazards and blocked exits. All AV equipment must use cord protectors. Gaff tape is not allowed.ROOM DIAGRAMS: DON%u02bcT set up tables, draping, bars, buffets, signage, etc. that block paths to exits.
